Our Key Policies

QTI's key policies are that:

  • PTEs have an important contribution to make to New Zealand – their role needs to be recognised and a level playing field needs to be provided;
  • students are the most important stakeholder in tertiary education, but meeting the needs of a range of stakeholders is crucial for effective tertiary education outcomes;
  • public funding should be made available on the basis of performance, not ownership;
  • government processes should be fair and transparent, with reasonable consultation, timelines and appeal processes;
  • working collaboratively within the tertiary education sector should be encouraged; and
  • diversity in educational provision must be encouraged to increase innovation.
