Media Design School staff and students are beaming with pride but not at all surprised that Game Art programme leader Mike Porter’s contribution to Media Design School has been globally recognised.


Porter, who leads Media Design School’s Game Art Department, won a GPS Leadership Award from Laureate International Universities, the world’s largest private university network, and travelled to Orlando, Florida in February to attend the GPS leadership conference.

Media Design School names Darryn Melrose CEO

Darryn Melrose has been named the new CEO of Media Design School, New Zealand’s most awarded tertiary institute for creative industries. Melrose brings more than 15 years of experience in the digital and mobile economy to his role at Media Design School.  Previous CEO Frances Valintine is transitioning from her existing role to assume a strategic visionary position as chair of the newly established Media Design School Strategic Advisory Board.
