NZCC partnership helps students gain MBA

NZCC is for the first time offering a one-year level 7 Diploma in Applied Management (from its Auckland Campus). This is a duel qualification with Chifley Business School in Melbourne. In one year graduates gain the NZCC Diploma and a Graduate Diploma in Management from Chifley, which is operating as a training partner with NZCC. The course is aimed at those who already have experience or qualifications and are looking to create a step change in their career.

NZCC offer practical streams in either project management or professional retailing. Graduates may then choose to study four more papers online with Chifley to gain an Australian MBA with a project management endorsement. This is now the most cost-effective path to an MBA in the New Zealand market and has the quality assurance of two highly rated providers to back it up.

To drive this programme NZCC has secured the services of Hamish McCracken as programme manager. Formally of the AUT School of Business and Law, Hamish has recently returned from the Sasin Institute of Postgraduate Business Administration, one of the top 20 Business Schools in the Asia Pacific region. He says he is excited to be working alongside Chifley, believing their qualifications to be among the best in the world at providing ‘real-world’ experiences and advanced business theory.

Every NZCC student is guaranteed a nine-week internship at a well-known New Zealand company, where they can learn successful business practice from some of the best in the business.

“The programme and courses are specifically targeted at meeting employer needs and improving the earning power of graduates,” says Hamish. “We will be combining the best of modern business theory with practical experience and encouraging our students to develop the kind of networks both internationally and locally that are key to business success.”
