New Post-Graduate Partnership for Carey and Bible College

The Bible College of New Zealand (BCNZ) and Carey Baptist College began a joint venture in post-graduate study in January 2006. The Tyndale-Carey Graduate School (TCGS) brings togetherfaculty membersthat are highly qualified in theological studies.

TCGS provides Masters level programs in Theology and Theological Studies, as well as providing support for students undertaking doctorates. Doctorates will be supervised through the University of Otago and Australian College of Theology. Courses will be offered at Bible College of New Zealand's National Campus (Henderson) and the Carey Baptist College Campus (Penrose), offering students increased flexibility and access to more faculty.

BCNZ principal Dr Mark Strom said the new school will bring considerable strength to future post-graduate offerings. "It should position the school as perhaps the leading choice for evangelical post-graduate study in Australasia," he said.

Carey principal Paul Windsor said, this is an idea whose time has come. This partnership between BCNZ and Carey will be welcomed by many people around this country. Particularly pleasing is the prospect of a flow of outstanding kiwi-made research into our own mission setting. This will help cut our umbilical to the northern hemisphere, enabling us to grow up and grow deep in our own land."
